2 year 8 month hiatus

Hello Book Blog World,

Wow it’s been a LONG time since I’ve been able to get the guts to get back into the world of blogging about my amazing book reading adventures. I’m not even sure where to begin…part of me thought, maybe I should wait until May and do a “3 year hiatus” post, but I’ve been reading some really amazing books recently and just can’t wait that long to share.

I’ve been fortunate to have several of my book friends on Facebook and have enjoyed being able to stay caught up with them through that social media outlet.  For a long time I just lost my way with balancing work, husband, kids and personal enjoyment. I somehow lost my interest to read books…probably because I just felt like I couldn’t figure out where to find the time to start enjoying books again.

Recently, however, I’ve finally lit that spark again and I’m RUNNING with it! So excited to get back into the mix of things. 🙂 My current book obsession has been biographies! From Patrick Swayze’s “Time of My Life” to Anna Kendrick’s “Scrappy Little Nobody”, I can’t seem to get enough.  I’ve also been getting a pull to revisit some of my absolute favorite series; Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series and Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress Series.  2017 is going to be dedicated to just getting my passion back, sharing my fabulous finds and revisiting some past loves.

I look forward to getting back into the swing of things, but I’m going to stick to posting book reviews as I’m able to finish books and try not to stick to a real schedule right now.  Sometimes trying to stick to a schedule over stresses me and then I start losing the passion and enjoying what I’m doing…so we’ll start there and then branch out if it feels right. 😀

Take care everyone…and Paperback Daydreamer is BACK in ACTION!

Recipe: Santa Fe Soup

This is a recipe that I have been asked for time and time again!  I’ve made it for family gatherings, for our football tailgates and just for something delicious for Tony, Jera and I to enjoy for an evening meal! It is super easy, but very delicious!  Keep this in your pocket for a chilly night, or for a fun gathering!

Brief Hiatus…normalcy will resume

Hello All!

I have been watching your twitter posts here and there this past week and a half.  We’ve had a lot going on, mainly at work, and I’ve been super busy and unable to post OR read my friends blogs!  Then, on top of that, Easter hit and my hands were completely tied to do anything reading/blogging wise on the weekend…so I’m back in action.

This week you will have a book review about First Grave on the Right, a recipe called Santa Fe Soup (one of my most popular recipes), a movie review on Lee Daniels’ The Butler, and of course…my challenge update! I might not have been keeping you ladies updated, but I’ve been getting my exercise/walk on the past week and a half!! 🙂  Yay me.

Currently I’m reading, and almost finished with, A Child Called “It”…I’m really unsure how I’m going to rate this book. So hopefully I’ll have some direction on that once I’m completely finished.  Then I plan on picking up The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling (I’m a HUGE Harry Potter fan, and haven’t been able to read this extra piece of (hopefully) awesomeness.) After I finish that, I’ll be moving onto book 2 of the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones. Oh yeah!

Looking forward to catching up with you all this week and seeing/catching up on what fun events I might have missed in your lives!

Recipe: Home Made Sloppy Joes

This will be a pretty easy recipe to share with everyone!  I’ve been making this recipe for a long time since I discovered it in my Mom’s recipe box!  A couple weeks ago, Tony and I needed the recipe and some how our copy was misplaced…I had my Mom text me the recipe and this is what I received:

Like I said, it’s super easy but it’s SOOOOO good! Any time a recipe calls for sloppy joe mix, we just make our own and include that for whatever recipe we’re having. We normally serve this on a whole wheat hamburger bun with a veggie and potato on the side. 😀

Monday Funday #12

My favorite radio station was talking about a baseball player and his significant other and some funny/awkward pregnancy photos that they had shared with the rest of the world.  It made me giggle and made me think about some other awkward pregnancy photos I’ve seen in my life.  I thought I’d share some of my favorites with all of you so you could get a good laugh on your Monday!!
